Brief Introduction to the Organization The Nepal Customs Agents Association, Kathmandu was established in recognition of the system introduced by the Government of Nepal for licensing customs agents to facilitate national and international trade, support national revenue collection, ensure secure and regulated imports and exports, promote trade, and contribute professionally to the country’s economic development. To achieve these objectives, licensed customs agents operating within the jurisdiction of the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office, Kathmandu, formed the Association as a unified common platform. The Association works in coexistence, cooperation, and coordination with customs agents and other customs-related stakeholders to make the customs-agent profession dignified, well-organized, regulated, and responsive to changing times, while protecting and promoting the professional rights and interests of its members. The Association is a non-profit social organization registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, on 19 Ashoj 2058 B.S., under the Association Registration Act, 2034 B.S. Objectives of the Organization Subject to the prevailing laws and the policies and directives of the Government of Nepal, and in coordination with the relevant authorities, the objectives of the Association shall be as follows: The Association shall be a non-profit, public-welfare-oriented, non-political social organization. To organize, strengthen, and develop the customs-agent service sector in a systematic and scientific manner; enhance professional capacity; and make a substantial contribution to national revenue collection in accordance with the principles of the national economy. To bring customs agents operating within the jurisdiction of the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office, Kathmandu, together under a unified organizational structure; safeguard the professional rights and interests of the Association’s members; and establish and maintain mutual coordination with the relevant agencies of the Government of Nepal and other related associations and organizations. To play a significant role in supporting the economic development of the nation and expand the scope of the Association’s activities in accordance with national needs. Since customs agency is a service-oriented profession, to support service-related activities directed by the state and contribute to the simplification and facilitation of the customs system. To simplify and facilitate customs procedures, maintain communication and coordination among importers and exporters, and organize national and international seminars, exhibitions, awareness campaigns, and promotional activities to make the profession more responsible, dignified, service-oriented, and professional. Upon the recommendation of the Federation of Customs Agents Nepal, the umbrella organization of customs-agent associations, to obtain membership in national, regional, and other organizations with similar professional objectives, and to develop and expand mutually cooperative and fraternal relations in order to make the customs-agent profession more reliable, efficient, and service-oriented. In carrying out its activities, the Association shall obtain the necessary cooperation, collaboration, and coordination of the Federation and local authorities, as well as approval from the relevant authorities.
